Sinningia 'Asela' IR 071025
Asela is one of 7 seedlings from the cross (S. 'Super Orange' x S. 'Aggs lavender\pink mix
(LP1)'). The cross was made on October 10, 2005 with S. 'LP1' as the seed parent. I had
about 10 plants but ignored them for a full year, until I needed the seed tray. I transplanted
them to individual cells. This one started growing really fast and bloomed about 3 months
later, three of the plants died. It bloomed for the first time on May 15, 2007 and has been in
bloom constantly for the last 3 months, always two to three blooms at a time. The first
bloom I accidently let go to seed and am going to be transplanting the seedlings in a
couple of weeks.

The bloom is a soft dusty rose with a deep burgundy spot in the throat. It is rougly the size
of S. 'Super Orange'. Ever since I potted it into a 2.75 inch pot it has been outside with my
larger sinningias, hence the dirt and debris on the leaves.  It still bloomed quite well in
during the 3 weeks of 100 degree weather.
