I have people ask about growing plants indoors and these are the benches I have used through the
years.
Above - my second plant bench; 4.5' x 3' and two levels, with four
4' bulbs on the top level and six 4' bulbs on the second. The first
level has gesneriads, including miniature violets, episcas,
kohleria, miniature sinningias and streptocarpus. The second
level had orchids, including Miltonia, Cattleya and Oncidium. I had
this bench from 1990 to 1994.
Above -My first plant bench back in 1988, it was 8 1/2 feet long and
had eight 4' bulbs. On the left is seeds and orchids and on the right
was a small, but growing collection of gesneriads. I ordered my first
sinningias from Park's Seed Catalog, they were called Mini-Sins. I
had about 15 germinate and grow. They were all in shades of purple
and pink.I had this bench from Dec. 1988 until Nov. 1990.

May 1, 2008 - The bench on the right is my current plant bench at
present. I am in the process of moving the seedlings in the snap-tite
containers into 2 1/2" pots (32 at a time). I bought this at Lowe's, it is the
heavy duty garage rack, space them evenly, add a couple of holes for light
screws and instant plant bench. It is a little over 6' tall, 4' long and 3'
deep, perfect for trays 4 to a section. It only cost about $150.00 dollars,
was together in about 3 hours and ready to go.
It was more expensive than the other 3 money wise, but I handmade them
and the time more than made up for the money.
On left is the bench I had between 2005 & January 2008.
