Trillium cuneatum - Sessile Trillium
Trillium cuneatum, commonly known as
Whip-or-will flower or Toad Trillium is a
very common southern wildflower that
grows over most of the middle and eastern
section of Tennessee.  This is one of several
species that are all very similar and grown in
this general area. I have seen these growing
side by side with T. luteum, T. discolor, T.
decumbens, T. recurvatum, T. grandiflorum
and T. erectum.
These are four different plants growing in a
twenty foot area of each other on the creek
behind my house.
